About

The University of the Philippines Rainbow Research Hub is a collaboration among academic, professional, and advocacy institutions that seeks to make a difference for the LGBTQI community in the Philippines through better LGBTQI scholarship and research.

With its accessible open educational resources in doing LGBTQI research, the hub supports students’ access to knowledge and expands educators’ arsenal of teaching materials. The hub encompasses a range of topics on LGBTQI research—from domain-specific knowledge across disciplines, to the methodological considerations, and ethical and practical concerns. Ultimately, through this collaborative effort of LGBTQI academics and allies, we envision an LGBTQI community in the Philippines empowered by reliable and relevant knowledge.

The project is co-developed by the UP School of Statistics, UP Diliman Office for the Advancement of Teaching, Psychological Association of the Philippines – LGBT Psychology Special Interest Group, and Babaylanes, Inc. The project is supported and funded by UP Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies.
